Where can I get my hands on a vintage prom dress? Or a dress that fits one of these styles?
So I want something different for prom. I’ve shopped my butt off an haven’t found anything remotely cute. I have a really weird mix of styles but if anyone can find a cut dress that fits one of them, that’d be a-mazing. I like punk, japanese, vintage, american eagle, and retro.
(My measurements are 35 27 38 and I’m 5’6″)
Any designer vintage will wear a hole very deep in your pocket. If that’s what you are after, there are positively stunning pieces that you can rent from stylists and designers all over.
There are also dresses that might fit the vintage look without actually being legit.
Check out a dress warehouse if there are any near you. I’ve come across some really modern american eagle ish pieces, and found vintage looking stuff on the same rack. Plus, they tend to be more affordable sometimes.
A good tailor will be able to work wonders with any dress. Find one that you like and see what can be done about it.
